Good morning
I have seen a shot like this before and turned it off thinking I didn't like it
I have read your post and studied the shot (not in a technical way) and WOW how powerful is that
This has really provided some fuel to put into presentations etc - many thanks for your post
Karl
Hey, Karl. Thanks for taking the time to look and comment. I appreciate the kind words.
If I have been able to make even one viewer stop and take a second or even third look and stop and think, then I count that photo as a success.
There are some photos that don't require any accompanying words and then there are others.
I've been sitting on this one for a couple of years. I took it at a relatives wedding. Grab the shot on the way to photograph the bride and groom after the ceremony.
I've worked on it a couple of times (half-heartedly) with no success. When I sat down with it the other night, well everything came together, the photo and the quote.
Glad you liked the results. :D

Judging from the condition of the bird, the grass probably died several times.

Somebody should tell us, right at the start of our lives, that we are dying. Then we might live life to the limit, every minute of every day. Do it! I say. Whatever you want to do, do it now! There are only so many tomorrows.

Ah, but there are many, many tomorrows, depending on how much one has to learn. Besides, what comes after all our tomorrows is so much more awesome that it makes this life look like hell-which many people think it is.
by the way, good shot!

Took this one at a wedding a few years ago. Had no idea what I was going to do with it.
You say you cut your grass today. Why not come on down and cut mine tomorrow? :?: :?:
Thanks for looking and commenting Hal81. I appreciate your kind words.

It would take me about two months to get there on my tractor. Your grass would be up as high as your armpits by then.

You said that you are ambivalent about the photo because it is a little depressing. In my books that means the photo is a success because it did arouse an emotion.
I took a quick look at some of your posts. I really liked the shots from Disneyland. Keep up the good work.

First, thank you for your kind comments.
Secondly, you are absolutely correct, the image is a success. If I didn't make that clear I apologize. I knew you were trying to evoke emotion and your picture certainly did!

rcirr, no apology necessary. I understood what you were saying. :D
I have a thick skin. Any comments or critisisms on any of my photos are always welcome.
