I guess he found the rock that I was talking about. Still a beautiful view of the park and skyline.

Back from my weekend in NYC and a great Sunday in Central Park !!! Lots of photos. I will post some in a bit. One of my maybe's while down in NYC was to maybe get over to B&H Photo, but we were just way too much on the go already. It was her birthday weekend not mine so we had other things planned !!! Much to my surprise when checking in to the Doubletree Hotel on Lexington was an advertisement on the front side of the key card !!!

Which is that, "kismet" or "serendipity"?

Here's a couple more. We'll be going back. These were taken with my Nikon P7000 bridge camera. I didn't want to lug my D200 around all day. Now that I know the "lay of the land" and my way around some, I'll make a more serious effort next time we go !!!

Will be cropping out the fence below.

Great shots! Love the reflection in the water, is that The Dakota bldg? Good idea to crop out the fence. Takes away the beauty of the monument and the foliage.

I'm not sure what buildings those were .... We never ventured outside the park in that direction. We basically came up Lexington, crossed over to Fifth Ave. to see the Apple store (amazing structure) and went into the Park for the rest of the day. We spent about 6+ hours in the park, and didn't see but a portion of it !!! We had dinner at the "Boathouse" Then went back by the Apple store and took a couple night shots of it and the street vendors nearby on the way back to the hotel.

You have captured the San Remo on Central Park West. It was built in 1930 as an Apartment House. It is an Upper West Side icon with numerous stars, (formerly Dustin Hoffman) musicians (Bono) and lots of others with money. It is one of many NY buildings designed by famous architect Emory Roth.

Great shots. I'm glad that you had a good day both weather wise and experience wise. I hope you get to go back soon, too much to see and do in just 1 day.

Headed back to NYC in two weeks !! Did a search for "Central Park" and found my post from 2013 looking for information. This time driving down on Sunday and headed to Washington Park and Greenwich Village. Staying over at the Double Tree on Lexington again and headed to Central Park on Monday morning for most of the day. I will not look forward to driving out of NYC if we leave after 2:00 or so..........
