We here on the Hog come together with a common bond. Our love for photography. We are a family, and as with family, we have our good times, our bad times, our likes and dislikes. Our agreements and disagreements. We tend to remember the bad, while the good seemingly hides in the shadows. This is a tale of generosity.
Many of you know of the loss I took some years back due to the housefire. Lost it all I did. Thankfully no lives were lost, but what was, was years of photographic work. A lifetime of travels from around the globe. Yet all that remain are the actual memories. Yet even they were almost gone, when back in '04 I suffered a leaking cerebral aneurysm. Luckily I survived after surgery.

Here's the link to the UHH. Thru a fellow member's generosity without any monetary return, and his only request that I enjoy, mwoods222 sent me a nice 70-300 telephoto with several filters. I can't wait to get out and try it out!! So here and now...I'm giving a shout-out to mwoods for his thoughtfullness and kindness!! Thank-you sir, and someday, someway, to someone, I shall return the gesture. :-D

What an absolutely moving contribution to the digest. The cordiality of the folks on UHH is the reason I signed up with this group. I did spend several days reading the topics, and found this to be one of the most friendly of the groups I found. It was that, that got me to sign up.
Your narrative here, has me utterly convinced that it was a good group with whom to be associated.
I wish you continued good health, and enjoyment with photography.

Hooray for heroes like mwoods222 !!! Very generous and kind and thank you Rex for acknowledging the wonderful kind act and sharing it with us! :)
Oh, almost forgot. I hope you are doing well and have recovered. Try to keep those travel memories.
Welcome back.... Maybe others can possible help... What is your camera ?
Thru the OAC I was able to purchase a Nikon D5100 with a 28-105mm Nikon lens. Reckon the next on my photographic bucket list would be a flash, tripod, and gear bag. Not as steady on my feet as I once was.

Your spirit is great. Hope I never suffer such travails as you but if I do, I surely hope I can emulate your spirit.

Great story Rex and I am so glad you are still here with us. As others have asked, what type of camera do you have now? Cheers.
