I really need to know why this photo is so messed up. I took this a few years back and when enlarged, it is awful!!

Hard to see you need to save the original with this

The change from brightness of the path to abrupt descnt into darkness of he woods is...abrupt. Burn in, a bit, he bright rock face on the left as it approaches the entrance to he deep wood, as well as the right edge of he "entrance hole". Clone out the near half of the hand rail and its nearest post. Also clone out fhe two, lower, smaller diameter bare branches in the upper left...they both (hand rail and lower branches) are distracting. Also dodge to lighten a bit just the first step down from the bright flat stones of the path. I like the image. Eliminating the distractions and softening the value changes in the path as it proceeds into the depths of the scene should help more than a little!. The complementary red and greens and the textures are great! Dave Graham
Just a guess. If it's from a few years ago and taken on an older camera, perhaps the resolution wasn't very high. Alternatively, maybe you've done a bit of cropping on it already and forgotten about it. If either of these is true, there won't be much scope for enlargement.
Mindy....Right next to the "upload box" is a smaller box. Use that to "store original". This uploads the larger pic that folk can review.
This is quite a nice little shot, the one thing that I feel messes it up is the branches top right, clone those out and I think you will see a different image.

Too much green...doesn't seem like one thing is a subject! Love the area though.
I am no critic, but when I look at the photo, it seems to be two heavy on the rite side. It is unbalanced. The red makes it lean to the rite.

I streched it a bit to a 4 x 7. Didn't help much. David
