Am ready to purchase the Sigma 150-500mm lens. My choices to purchase from is Amazon or Adorama. Price is same either place. I have never purchased anything from Adorama but do purchase a lot from Amazon and have always been happy with them. But this is a much more expensive purchase than I have ever made from them. So which would you choose and why?

Go for Amazon. I had to return a $400 lens and the process was smooth as melted butter. ;-) No problem return process. I don't know it it works the same with all their providers but I was amazed at Amazon and their customer satisfaction. I made sure all was as it came and packed in the same box it came, with all documentation, caps and all.

I recently placed and order with Adorama and they couldn't get it right until the third time and their follow up is terrible.

Often Adorama will offer a protective lens filter, usually made by the camera/lens manufacturer for free or a dollar or two. Sometimes does not show until you add to cart.
I have bought two camera bodies, three lenses over the last year. A few thousand dollars and no problemswhatsoever.
There is a Adorama representative who is a UHH member if you wish to contact her about purchase. She has been quite helpful to me.

Amazon offers a longer return window than Adorama. That alone is reason enough to purchase from them.

Hi zuzanne: Besides Amazon,Adorama is one of the top three on line camera stores I learned about through the forum. The other two are B&H and KEH. I have also seen Cameta mentioned more than a few times. All of them seem to offer quality service and reasonable pricing. Personally I have purchased used lenses through both Amazon and KEH. When I mistakenly ordered the wrong lens shade for my 70-200 mm "L" series lens KEH quickly sent my the correct one, and took back the wrong one for a credit. I would investigate all of them for the best price then go with the best valued one you can afford. I know KEH offers a wide range and rating on their used lenses. Hope this helps some.

I have always had good service from Amazon.
I bought a Fuji bridge camera from them and subsequently found the viewfinder was too small for me. I returned it for a full refund - no problems and they paid return postage.
I also had a Benq computer monitor that I was not happy with - that also went back for a full refund. I little later I purchased a Hanns-G monitor which was delivered in a couple of days and is excellent .

Amazon is the best! They list a number of different sellers. You can read the customer reviews before you buy. I use them an awful lot and have never had any problems. i have used credit cards or PayPal with absolutely no problems there, either. Also, getting a good used product is, in my opinion, is just as good as new, and cheaper at the same time. Good luck, and have fun!

You cannot go wrong with Amazon, B&H, Adorama or Hunts Photo. All are good sellers. I have used all of them without any problems
