Bear Brook, Allenstown NH, comments. tips, thoughts appreciated
Lived in Ga, SC, Texas and found my share of various rattlesnakes, never found any in NH ( 22 years there) did come across a dozen or so bears though, and nary a decent image of them
I appreciate your comments.
Bear brrok in summer really is as green as it aapears,
First time I ever experienced ssuch a thing was on the Kenai in Alaska, ferns and moss so thiock you could use it for a recliner. The Bear Brook location I shot this image gets very little direct light, perfect for playing with long exposure.

My all time favorite place to sit, read and enjoy nature, An great place to expose a frame or two as well. Hintsw, tiops, suggestions greatly appreciated
Hi Bruce... Why are all the trees in the back ground, leaning to the right? Looks like the horizon is off, yet the tree trunk on the left side seems to be straight. Something looks like it's way off. The water seems to be running uphill to me.

I agree with Mike. I rotated the photo 8 degrees counter-clockwise and the photo, in my opinion, is much more pleasing to look at and more natural...the water is not flowing "up" hill.
Great subject, but the green colors look strange and has a severe tilt.
Quite a dreamy atmosphere. The green is about as green as it can get—it's almost painful. The blue of the water, as well as it flowing glow, seems a perfect compliment to the surrounding. It's a truly lovely shot. Since you're looking for comments, I'll add a strictly personal point of view. I cropped it (on the right) because I don't like when objects are brought too close to where I have to focus at a distance. It irritates my eyes to make this jump. The ferns at the bottom didn't require such a leap. Maybe it's just me. Thanks for the picture. I'll look at it whenever I need to get away.

Nice. love Bear Brook, camped there when I was a kid. many great memories. Thank you for taking me back Way back!!!!!
Oh but that is beautiful! One day I hope to capture a shot like that.
Basic color correction, trees back to vertical, and horizon back to horizontal.
Thank you for your "correction" sir, However the trees in the backgroud are not now, nor have they been verticle for as long as I have visited this location. They grow on a sloping stream side and their orientation to the planet is as seen in the original iditeration of this image. as water undercuts the bank it causes the foundation on which the trees grow to weaken and move. You can see the trees in the foreground are indeed vertical. This is because the trees are growing in the brook its self. Maybe be strange to the new visitor, but the trees lean. The water is not blue either, due to the Granite State being, well mostly granite, the water takes on a red hue from the amount of iron and hence rust in the water.
Again I thank you all for your comments.

I tend to like your original Bruce. The woods are indeed that green in NH.
BMac Thsnk you for your input. There seems to be sxome contraversy regarding "leaning" trees. To one who hasnt experieced this area it is understandable for the impression "something looks out of whack" .

Adam thank you for your kidn words, I apprfeciate your commengts and crop, That does improve the image:=)
I went to 4H Camp at Bear Brook many, many years ago. Grew up in NH and have lived all over ever since but no place holds a larger place in my heart.
Are you sure that green isn't just a tad too green? You might try a simple adjustment in "selective color" in Photoshop and see if you like it.
Hi Great picture :) In Western Washington we see places like this.
I too think the photo looks like it needs rotating clockwize about 5 deg.
The fore-ground leaves in the upper Rt takes away from the most interesting part of back ground.
The circle in the center Rt is probably a root, but it makes an all natural shot look artificial, like a road culvert.
The slick flowing water over the rocks is great, but the fuzzy turbid area is too fuzzy. A faster shot perhaps could have kept the flow but stopped some of the bubbles and ripples.
The color looks nice. Even the rocks turn green in Wash.
Nice photo. --- Glen
