It's all your fault!

I’ve been a member for 8-9 months now and it seems that at least three or four times a week one or more members is extolling the virtue of the Sigma 150 – 500 lens. I’ve therefore taken the plunge and bought a used one from Ebay. Having used it for a couple of days, I love it. I have a Nikon D200 and already have the Nikon 80-400 VR lens; the Sigma one is definitely better. We’re going on (another) safari holiday in June, this time to Zambia so the lens is going with me. I’m in the process of persuading my wife to take the big Nikon lens for her D90 and pack her 18-200 (another lovely lens) as a reserve. I haven’t yet let on, though, how much the Sigma cost and haven’t (yet) had to justify the Sigma when I already have a ‘big’ lens!

It’s all your fault!

Yup, I have also succumbed to the alluring siren song of the sigma monster zoom.
Works pretty well, I am happy with the investment.

You are right! I'm proud to say that I have resisted the temptation to buy the 150-500mm because I would have no use for it. On the other hand, I'm not going to tell you how much UHH has cost me in equipment I read about here and then bought. :-D

I lived/worked in Zambia a number of years ago. It is a wonderful country with a wide variety of photo ops (cultural events, wildlife, people/places. I do envy you.

Very nice shoots and you are right there is a lot of "neat stuff" identified here.
