I confess ... I sit and snap my dog constantly but it is hard to get a good shot as every time I raise the camera, he looks away! Little stinker!!

My dog does that too. I read somewhere that you shouldn't use a flash...it scares them. I did that at first so now he won't look.

Ancient as in raggedy looking or as in exotic looking?? I think (s)he is rather exotic with the pose and all!

Yes, I agree. I had to adjust the color on original but did not sharpen or apply any other edits. The bird was wet and i think that is why it looks as it does.
