Love these shots davidk! They seem to just be waiting for their shot Mr. DeMille.

You must've used a macro to get this close. These are great!

Another sparrow visitor this morning: A White-throated Sparrow! Its identification is unmistakeable with white stripes on the side of its head and its strong bright yellow lores and a delicate white bib on its upper breast. This is my first sighting of this species this spring. Its always exciting seeing the return of migrating species!

Great pictures of the Mallard Drake. That's what I see mallards do every time I walk down to the pond to take pictures of them.

p30 -- Thanks Mary, They are always so pretty to watch and that one was content to just stand there preening for quite a while so gave me some time to catch him!!

Good luck at the Dr. Hope you weren't having any problems with the pacemaker. Always good to have it checked though!

Hey guys, with all the excitement we had today I am off to bed. The two girls are still hanging in there and took a little water.

See you all in the morning and thanks for all your participation and beautiful pixs.

Tomorrow I have to get my pacemaker checked late morning so I will be gone for a bit then but I know we will easily carry on without me then. Will be on in the morning though.

Fuzzycoach, you certainly take wonderful pictures of birds. My favorite is "Proud Mama".

Couple from the archives. Was trying out the zoom on my SX40 while watching the feeders at my sister's place. LOVE watching for the Gold Finches!

Ok you guys, it seems like you have been putting up a lot of bird photos lately so I am hoping you haven't run out leaving me with an empty Challenge!

Birds are everywhere, the trick is catching them at the right time and with the right light. Try some flight photos and see if you can "pace" the bird. Find a time when you know the birds will come to a certain place and be set up to snap them (I hate to say shoot them).

You can also call a plane a bird if you like but please no English birds (the slang type used years ago).

I am not so good at birds so that's why I chose it for my challenge so show me what you've got, you can easily outdo me!

Here's a start:

This is my chance to share a funny story about going out with my husband to get some images of Osprey. That's him blurred because all I had time to do was capture the Osprey flying by while he was looking the other way. I thought about shouting out that there was one behind him but would have missed the shot. He never did see the bird.
