Greetings Folks...
Well guess what...I won 1st place in this months photo contest at the Nashville Photography Club. I was competing against some 20 other entries from some very talented people in this months subject "Flora". This is truly an honor for me to have been judged by my peers as having the best.
Now this shot did not come easy. I spend about 45 minutes standing by a cherry tree that had come into full bloom. What caught my attention of course the blooms, but I was doubly thrilled that it was loaded with bees. There must have been 20-30 bumble bees, 5-8 honey bees, a couple wasps and a fly or two. While I stood there, hoping to get a good shot with nice composition...the thought "I might get stung", did enter my mind..for I was right in the middle of them. But the bee's payed no attention to me, they were focused on only the blooms.
My prize...a $50.00 gift card from Dury's, one of Nashville premiere photography stores and publication in next months NPC newsletter.
So, I thought I'd pass on my good news to all you kind folks here on UHH and express my thanks to many here who inspire people like me..."to keep on shooting". I have learned much from folks here and for me it paid off.
James
