Hi everyone,
I'm currently researching for a 2.500 word essay I have to write, but I'm really struggling to create the title/question.
I'm looking at human intervention on our landscape, so looking at photographers such as Richard Misrach, Fay Godwin, Jem Southam, just to name a few (all have great work so definitely take a look!)
The best I've come up with so far is How does photography highlight human intervention in the landscape? But I'm not 100%
Any ideas for the question?
Thanks =]

Does photography document human intervention in the landscape?

What is the social impact of documenting human intervention on the enviroment through Photograhy?
Can photography adequately document human intervention on the enviroment?

I've been thinking about these questions for weeks, you make it seem so simple! Thanks for your help.

Devonians as in belonging to the geologic time, system of rocks, or sedimentary deposits of the fourth period of the Paleozoic Era, characterized by the development of lobe-finned fishes, the appearance of amphibians and insects, and the first forests. Since there were no humans during that period (And the OP is referring to human intervention on the landscape) this comment is about as appropriate as many of your others. Just sayin :D :D
Being clever can be a challenge

Perhaps your question could be : Does photography make landscape great (or iconic)?
In the UK We have protected areas like SSI's sites of special scientific interest. (Geological or animal/insect/reptile habitat) but lots more AOANB's areas of outstanding natural beauty. Were these defined as a result of popular photography bringing these special places to a wider audience. Could we now propose a place as an AOANB without photographs or without well known photographers supporting the planning application?
Landscapes change by nature or mans action. Is an iconic landscape only possible by being 'frozen in time' by photography. Many people suggest preservation or conservation but the results often lacks authenticity. Think great mansion with no servants etc. Photographs can bring a greater feeling of authenticity to any 'scene'.

Here's one that's an application of the KISS principle:
Photograpghy - Human Intervention in the Landscape

What "spin" are you looking to use? For instance: "Human intervention has destroyed the landscape", "Human intervention is now improving the landscape" to mention two. the tag line: "Can/does photography adequately capture the ...", or "How could photography better capture and display the ..."
Every picture tells a story, don't it.
DOCUMENTING THE CHANGING LANDSCAPE
Just my suggestion.
