The female is bigger then the male, I have a raptor center in Antigo that helps me. I take the pictures and send them to them. Plus I have been watching them for 2 years. And I have gotten pictures of the 2 together in a tree. And she is about 3 inches bigger then he is. And when I get close ups of them, he has 2 white feathers on his left leg. He also is all clean and well groomed.

Thank you for your information, I am impressed with your photos. The Bald Eagle is my favorite bird, majestic and proud, very symbolic of our country. Thank you for showing us your photos.

I, too, just took delivery of my new Nikon D7100 and am loving it (I also have the 70-300mm lens to go with it)!! Your pictures are fantastic! I am attaching some eagle pics I took in Florida recently. Heard about a pair, went to the place and caught one of them at the nest. Any comments (pro or con!) would be appreciated!

The files are about 27.6 MB in raw files that is what I work with and shoot in. I use Elements 11. So when I place my pictures on the internet. I crop reduce the resolution down to 100 pixels/inches.

I think they are great. Do you use any editing programs? If not wow they are awesome. I always try to use a tripod because of my shoulder and back problems. If I do not use the tripod then I do get some camera blur from the weight of the 70-33mm lens. If you would not mind I would love to lighting one of your pictures and re - post it to you. You would not beleave what a little lighting would do to a picture. Then you could see what I am talking about. I also take my photos in Raw, can really play with the pictures then.

Oh my goodness, when I first heard about the D7100 I know I needed it. Lighter weight then the full frames, and still good pictures.
If you want help uploading any of your pictures I can try and help.
I also love playing with files and computers.
What kind of a camera do you have? and Megpix size? and do you have any editing program. It's fun once you start to play.

These are great pictures. Definitely National geographic quality. These birds are so magnificent that it would be hard to get a really bad picture of them.

Oh thank you so very much. Ordered the snow just for the pictures, LOL. Not really, but the Eagles really come in when we have snow storms for some reason.
I hope you enjoy your D7100 as much as I love mine, I am in heaven with it.

I am not sure they are good enough for National geographic.

Yes they are magnificent birds, but I have taken some what I call bad shots of them. In Feb. a group of us went on a road trip to get Eagles.. Temps was about 9 degrees, super windy. At that time I was just using my D7000 and everything was freezing up. Our lens, camera's and yes us too. And the pictures did not to the birds justice.
I know it was not the camera's fault, it was us shaking for the cold. Boy we did have a good time thou, something I will never forget.
