Mighty Mississipp???? Looks like it. Nice shot. Contrails are usually a no no, but they add a pretty crosshatching to this sunset

Jo, this is Kentucky Lake taken from the Land Between the Lakes. Yep contrails-- I was there they were there so just went ahead and took the shots. I thought the crosshatch with the clouds and contrails made it a little different. Thanks, TNmike

Thanks rlaugh. I got about 30 shots of this sunset with the sun at different levels and moved around in the frame. TNmike

Nice shot. Loving the vapour trails (contrails) if thats what they are crisscrossing the sky.

Thanks paulst7. Yes those are airline vapor or contrails crisscrossing with some clouds. Sorry I missed your post earlier. TNmike

Man, I'm getting the bug again! Can't fly my "Force 10" anymore since tearing my ACL, But the Revolution II quad is gonna get a workout. =) A photog from the local newspaper took some pictures of me flying the REV. I held the kite steady about eight feet off the sand so the light of setting sun was shining through the kite and I was solid silhouette and light was reflecting off the lines. That guy was good!

I took my bag out while down at Myrtle Beach for the first time in two years. Crap! It took me fifteen minute to remember how to tie a larkshead! The day I picked had very little wind and I tried to pop my PBSK Savage with a wrist snap and broke a leading edge rod. When I go winter mobile in a little while I'm heavily considering spending some time in Galveston area. At least as long as Houston remains downwind

Lol! I hadn't flown in a couple of years and had forgotten what a workout the eight footers can be in 15/20 mph winds! If you ever get out to socal, take a kite to Seal Beach, the north end. Huge, wide expanse of level soft sand with rock-solid, steady, 10 to 12 mph sundowner winds coming off the water that goes on for hours! Lots of wind here in San Antonio, but very gusty. Haven't been here long, maybe down by the coast... South Padre Island?

Oh my. I need so badly to go trail riding at Wranglers, but I'm between horse trailers. Need to see if I can find some eagles up there too! It's a beautiful area.
