Can anyone tell me about off market battery grips? I found one at B&H Photo...Velo BG-C8 for around $230. Then I found a few on Amazon... Xit XTCG6D around $90. Then when you look on ebay you find them anywhere from $33 on up.
Anyone have any experience with any of these off market brands or should I stick with the Canon brand?
Thank you!

This is a popular topic. Some grips work fine, and others are less than perfect. Take a look here.

Like jdubu I have the Zeikos ZE-CBG60D on my 60D and it works great/like it was part of the camera. I use two of the Maximal Power DB CAN LP-E6, budget batteries with full compatibility; they really extend the camera time. Plus when you're in portrait position, the grip has a shutter release and camera controls at the correct location (which can be turned on and off)
Best buy has units for $78 t0 $129 depending on model of camera. Advantage here is thaat if you don't like it you can return it within 15 days.

I use a Bower battery pack/Grip on one of my D5100 from day 1...its never been off and have never had a problem with it...think it was like 65 bucks.
I looked up a grip for the D600 on Amazon, and I got a thorough description.
"This is Battery Grip For Nikon D600 Camera is a grip that attaches to the Nikon D600 camera."
Now I finally understand! :D
Are you going to use the battery grip most of the time or just rarely? If you wil use it the majority of the time, you would be better off with the Canon grip. The quality, workmanship, and materials in the Canon will be superior to the aftermarket product.

When I got my 1st DSLR/Canon Rebel Ti, a friend said "Chris, get a grip!" So I did. And never let go! Besides the battery life, I really like that it makes the camera so much easier to hold and shoot with.

i can no longer use my camera without the grip for the same reasons.the grip just makes the feel of the camera much better plus when the need to tilt the camera the added buttons make life much easier..ow i use a meike grip for my 7d but dont need one for my 1ds ii as we all know
I'm using a Meike grip on my Canon 60D and absolutely love it. Buy it from a stateside company though, not out of Hong Kong. Deliver is much faster. The balance is much better on the 60D, as others have said about other models.

Same here no problems
I have a Polaroid brand for my D-7000 and it has always worked fine.
I have had both copy and original Nikon for my D90,, The copy was ok,, But when you try the copy on then the original Nikon, then you see the quality difference,,, So I sold the copy and kept the original... You do after all get what you pay for,,,,
