I purchased Silver Effects Pro about a year ago, but have not received the above mentioned email. Does it apply only to those purchasing more than one app in the past? I plan to check their website to see if the offer is available there.

Google is relatively famous for their data mining of, well, everyone. Acquiring Nik... well, I will wait for the hacker reports.

I use several Nik Programs and am happy with their performance. Recently, Google acquired Nik and seems to be changing Nik operations.

Today, I received an email from NIK Google stating, "To be sure you have the latest version of the Nik plug-ins, click the link below to download the Nik Collection. Your download will begin automatically."

I called them and they said that my programs had updates available...and this would update each and everyone of them. A universial update for all (no selection on my part).

My belief in the old saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is very strong.

My question is, have any of you received an email from Nik offering you the universial update, and if so, did you do it? and where there any problems?

I am interested in having the latest upgrades...but worried about updating them all ( the existing versions would be delated from my computer...so no going back!

Not only are there no problems ....you are going to get the entire NIK collection. Don't waste any time laboring over this. Go for it! I did!

Hi, if anyone can help I will be most pleased.

I purchased the NIK deal a week or so ago but I never received it as a download.

I then realised that I should have had either Photoshop or Lightroom to download it to which I don't.

Now I cannot get through to anybody to get it sorted, as when you email NIK they want my Photoshop or Lightroom version No. which obviously I do not have.

Thanks in anticipation. Terry.

Google is changing things up with Nik. No one outside of Google seems to know what plans they have for Nik and Google isn't talking. I didn't have any Nik products but was happy to buy the bundle for $149. They work great inside of Photoshop and I'm more than happy with my purchase.

I originally purchased the NIK Complete Collection for Lightroom only and was happy to see the free upgrade offer for the full version. I do, however, wonder what the future plans for the NIK suite might be now that Google owns them.

I heard through the rumor mill, that Google was going to integrate parts of the programs into stuff they are running now? Don't they own picassa or something?

My only concern with this great deal (and I did update mine) is that it could drive OnOne and Topaz out of this space, which could then lead to nik not innovating since there is no competition.

All of this information is a high learning curve for this "newbee"to digital. Thanks for sharing! I am trying to soak it all in before I do anything!
