Well, I went shopping again. Yup, I got the SX160 what a nice little bridge camera. It was on sale at best buy. $170 you can't go wrong and the photo are pretty good too. The only think I have to get use to is the shutter button is so, so sensitive. It has manual settings as well.
So, you know as soon as I got to the car it was open and set up. I took a few shots on the way home. I'm just trying to get use to the lil thing. The zoom is optical and gets far. photo with the ducks was a good distance at the other end of Spring Creek. The wooden fence is what Storm Sandy took with her. The construction is on the Belt Parkway just before Exit 13 Rockaway Parkway.
When I get better at using this camera I'll post better shot.

I'm too amazed at this SX160

So far it looks pretty good.
Sure looks like your having fun. I had to look this camera up. It's a Canon 16mp with 16x zoom. Looks like it's doing the job for you. Great series

I don't live there. I'd like to. The view of the airport would be great (JFK)
I live in a 3 family on the ground floor.

i saw the floors and my claustrophobia started to kick in.
I've had this thing about heights/ small spaces since i was about 6 yrs old and my mother would take me to the tall buildings in Chicago.
I would not get any where near the windows and i would lay on the floor until she was done with her business.

I spent my early childhood in "The Projects", Flatlands Ave & 108th until 1965 when we moved to Long Island. I live in Allentown, Pa now but often go back to LI to visit family & friends and pass through Brooklyn. Always dread the Belt Pkwy, for as much construction as that road has gone through, it always seems to be in terrible shape. Your photo of Starrette City brings back memories, I remember seeing commercials on TV for it when it was 1st built.
Look forward to seeing more photos.
