I lived on a beef cattle farm but the neighbors had a dairy farm. I begged my Dad to let me buy a bull calf from the neighbor so I could raise it. My Dad finally gave in and I bought General. I used to lead him around with a leash and eventually just had to call his name and he would come running (even all the way from the back pasture). He was more like a pet dog to me. The picture is an old scanned photo from around 1983. This was when he was still pretty young.
Thanks for starting this thread...brought back lots of wonderful memories!

Bio Cow ,,,no fat..
Tad, what are you up to? Any new pics?
My grandmother always has a few bottle raised calves around. My city raised nephew got an up close and personal lesson in how tame they can be !
I'm just curious, what is the average life span of a cow?
