Hello everyone, I am so excited to join this great group. I am fairly new to photography and live in Colorado which has so many wonderful photo ops. As I am just starting out I could use as many tips as anyone can give me. Right now I have a Nikon Coolpix digital camera. Here is one of my photo's taken on the farm.

Welcome to the HOG. Your camera metered on the bright snow, so you have a good silhouette of the trees and the deer.
Was that your intention - just asking.

Thank you. When I saw the deer I just started clicking away on Easy Auto Mode some came out looking like a silhouette and some came out clear. I still have to work on what settings work best in different light. I am posting some more photo's so you can see the difference.

Thank you I will check out colo43, as I love taking photo's of deer and any wildlife really. I know I have a lot to learn about taking photo's and it looks like there are a lot of knowledgeable people on this site that can help. Thanks Lori
