Are you using a laptop or computer with a touch pad on it ?

On my Sony Vaio, using the keyboard while the touch pad is active produces some terrible results because my palms touch the keyboard while typing.

Solution: I hit my (FN) Key and (F1) to disable the touch pad. I normally keep it off now and use a mouse which I find much easier to use.

Possible dirt and sticky stuff in the keyboard. When was the last time you cleaned it?

The problem sounds as a mechanical issue and not a digital one such as a virus, malware etc.

Thanks for answering Sarge. Laptop, the pad is active but my hands are nowhere near it while typing.

If you are using windows look in accessoress for onscreen keyboard. If it works you will need a new keyboard of you might have a virus

Hi big-guy, I cleaned the keyboard when it first started happening last week not all the keys can be dirty. It's got to be a key i've pressed by mistake somewhere on the keyboard.

This one was OK. Someone suggested sticking keys - can you test keys one at a time - just repeated use one key, etc.

Can we assume this strange typing occurs in whatever program you use?

I have this issue on my Dell, there is a touchfreeze software, I need to figure how to download and run it!

A little levity - real circumstance but probably not your issue.

Woman was having trouble with keyboard and making entries as well. Wrong data in some cases, many 'spaces where' there not be any. Office time in motion type person came to see. Watched women for a few minutes, then said go have a coffee break. In her absence he raised her chair up 2 inches. This prevented her boobs from swinging over the keyboard and causing spurious keystroking.

Hey Haveago, it looks you have tried all the normal stuff like checking your hand position, cleaning the keyboard and checking each key individually which is great. Is your computer slow? For instance, when you open new software does it take awhile? It may be as simple as cleaning out junk files, too little RAM or an overly full Hard Drive. If it is slow overall let me know and I will recommend some free software for you that might help. S-

Well it's slow in typing if that's what you mean :-) I sort out files, loose ends etc etc using "Microsoft Fix it Center" app but if you have anything else app / links wise to suggest then pass them on please they it might help.

I also remove Internet cookies on a regular basis as well just in case they cause any other kind of trouble. Plenty of Gb's left & 8Gb RAM is ok.

I can't think of anything else left to check.

You've done well, but try this.

Close everything except your browser then install and run CCleaner, Spybot and MS Essentials
- You can always uninstall these later

CCleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner (junk)
- Install and run as-is with no changes to the settings
- Optional: you can also; change the settings, run Repair Registry and control your Tools > Startup Files
- Advanced: you can also install CCEnhancer adding to CCleaner

Spybot - Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/private (spam)
- Install the Free Home version
- Run through the setup prompts
- Then do a System Scan
- You may want to Immunize too

MS Essentials http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download (virus)
- Install then run the Quick Scan
- Optional: run the Full Scan

When these finish Reboot and let us know how it worked.
