I have tried using CameraTrace and other tools to no avail - no exif data hits. My only hope now is that someone may go to buy this camera (or a pawn shop may search for the serial) and find this post and contact me.
Item was sold by me on eBay and then the purchaser issued a credit card chargeback 7 months(!!!) later. My days of eBay/PayPal are now over - seller protection is a joke if this can happen so far after transaction date (Sep 2012).
If anyone knows of other tools or if there is a lost or stolen camera registry / database please let me know.

I think your issue is with the charge card company NOT ebay or paypal.... As far as I have always known, there is a 90 day limit for doing what happen...

I believe you are right, I have 100% feedback as a seller and I have never heard of that
One buyer bought software from me £200 didn't use it (supposedly) for 8 months and said the key number didn't work, Ebay said something along the lines of "tough" to him should have reported it in a MONTH, the key by the was WAS 100% genuine
check out Craig's list, that's where they try to sell a lot of shall we say misplaced equipment!

How can that happen? You need to contact your credit card company and issue a complaint with them. If you have proof that you delivered, the credit card company should reverse that.
Let me repeat !!!
Your credit card company is at fault..........................

My credit card company is not involved. Buyer's credit card company and PayPal are involved.

How so? Buyer paid with CC, PayPal accepted, and funds went into my PP account. Buyer CC did chargeback to PP. PP seized my Paypal funds balance.
My CC is not involved.
Indy, you're right... I had things mixed up... Someone in PP is the culprit... Have you had a lawyer write them a letter that Moe and Joe will break their fingers if they don't straighten it up ?
