My first camera was a Kodak Brownie Starflash. I got it in 1956. I still have it and had a roll of slide film that was in it. I took color print film and slide film with it.

years ago one of the big film companies was going to do that. Or at least there was some talk about doing that. Seems like I even saw a photograph. At the time sensor technology wasn't that good and the idea was abandoned in favor of building small sensor cameras. I'm sure, Kodak or Fuji or someone holds the patent. I think it might be a better idea now than it was then. Technically it could easily be done. Admittedly it would be a niche market. Targeted at those who want to use their old cameras. That still might be a large market. Look at what the macro three fourths format has done for the value of old lenses.

If they ever do, I'm going to be really sick about selling all my Canon 35mm gear. I had 2 A1s with motor drives, an FTb quickload, an AT-1, as well as a bag full of lenses, converters, filters, reversing ring, etc. But the cost of using film got prohibitive and I went digital. My present camera is the Kodak Z980.

Yes. When I was in the Coast Guard I took tons of pics, but they were all slides. I guess at that time it was cheaper to use slide film.
Now I have all of those slides, and I have to find a way to convert them to probably JPGs.

A Baby Brownie Reflex in 1947. It used 127 film....Verichrome Pan for B/W and Kodacolor for color prints...the only film available locally.
Every camera afterwards was a twin lens reflex til I started my own business in 1964.

Can you top this? I bought an Argus A for about $12 in 1937. It didn't have continuous focus but the lens had two detents, one for closeups(about 10 feet, if I remember) and the other for more distant shots.

C3 a great weapon with those square corners. I had one too but later upgraded to the C4 with interchangeable lenses. Think my first camera was a Kodak Instamatic 104. Great reading all you peoples posts. Gene C.

Yo, ChopBobby: I use an Epson Perfection V500 Photo scanner for both slides and negatives, as well as B&W and Color photos. Does a great job, but I do often enhance with Ps. I believe there are quite a number of scanners that are capable and come with adapters for scanning slides and negatives. It's a lot of fun to see very vibrant photos made from the old slides. Best luck to you. Jack

I don't know if my Kodak scanner/printer will do that or not.
