These were shot at a board walk over the marsh and out to the bay, very good place for shore bird pictures. I don't know my bird names very well so I want try and name them. Thanks for looking.

The pelican and the gator are my faves. Very nice, bright photos with good detail.
Thanks for your comments Angler and LLucas.

Nice set...I really like the Gator and the Spoonbill :-D
Good shots. I don't know the first one but the next is a Pink Ibis, the next a Blue Heron, then an Alligator, which by the way has a lot of evolution to go before it's a bird, and then finally a Green Heron. The first one I'll leave to the rest out there.

I stand corrected. I knew the name had something to do with the colour. I took a stab at pink. The other I've not heard of before but it's nice to know the name.
Thanks for the names GHO guess I will have to get a bird book so I can look up names.

Thanks for the clarification. Do we have Spoonbills on the East cost? That's one gorgeous bird with those pink feathers. He looks like the lovechild of a flamingo and pelican..!

Spoonbills are year round on the coast of the southern half of Florida and will occasionally get as far north as North Carolina. They maybe also found year round as far west as Texas on the coast. This photo was taken in Naples Florida
