Nope not very good shots at all!! You had better box it up and send it to me to look at. It might take me a while to get it fixed.:):)

Yes very nice shots...and once you get it custom fit just the way you like it...I'm sure even better shots to come.

Hey Erv, thanks for the kind offer and I will take you up on it, with a small change, be nice if you come on over to India so it is "set up" to the conditions where I do my shooting!!
On a more serious note, I am out with it at the moment. It looks like I might have made a good choice for my type of photography.
Thank you for looking always appreciate your comments.

Thank you Bret, value your comments. I look forward to getting familiar with. It is very similar in layout to the D7000 and my D600, so I hope to get there quite quickly.
Cheers!

I just got my D7100 and after some minor settings in the menu I rushed out to one of my favourites spots in the neighbourhood. Being evening and on the West coast, light was fading fast, and so birds were making their way home.
Here are some sample images that I managed to get in the hour I spent out. I was lucky, this is not an example of the wealth of the birdlife in my area.
It gave me an opportunity to test for poor light conditions using ISO's of 1600 and above. The lens I used is my trusted 70~300 4.5 ~5.6 G VR.
The bee image was taken when the light was getting particularly poor in the foliage where he was.
My son has taken to photography and I gifted my D7000 to him.
The D7100 appears to make a good companion for my D600. I hope to eventually get the new 80~400 lens Nikon recently introduced, for this body.
I am quite impressed with the 1.3 crop feature. The female sunbird (first image) is cropped thus.

Thank you Carolina, I came away quite pleased.
At first I thought to myself "How could Indrajeet possibly get better pictures with a new camera, after all the stunning shots we've been seeing". Then when I saw the pics I was even more amazed than before! How do you do it???

You are very generous with your compliments, thank you. There is really no big deal, the D7100 is similar in so many ways to the D600 I use and the D7000, which I used earlier.
Appreciate your visit. Cheers!
Looks as if you are off to a good start with your new camera.
Unjoy, and keep shooting more images.
Good Luck

Thank you for looking and I appreciate your comments. Yes, there is a large variety of bird life in India. Let me know if you ever do plan on visiting and if you are in or near my area, I will be happy to take you around.

Many thanks, glad that you liked them, thank you for visiting. The new camera is very similar to what I have been using so it was not much of an issue coming to grips with it.
