Hi, I'm Kim. Still new to this but I have learned a lot the last few months.
I am 56. I am a mechanical consulting engineer. More the analytical type rather than creative type so this photography thing does not come easy. I have always loved photography however. My father first got me interested in it over 35 years ago, but I got busy in my career & raising a family, so never did much with it.
I decided I needed a hobby besides golf when I retire since my wife said that I am not just hanging around her all of the time. Bought a DSLR last February and have been learning ever since.
I am married and have four children.
A few pictures below of me and family.

My boss, Tammy does wedding jump shots every chance she gets. They're pretty neat to see...all of the wedding party airborne. Much like tenbanshee's photo. Not an easy feat. (I could have 'punned' this by saying 'not an easy FEET'. LOL)

I doubt it. I am just a dumb engineer living in Utah. Thanks for the comments about my family. I think they are pretty great too, but then I am not biased.

I lived a number of years in Utah, Salt Lake City, as well as Hurricane and La Verkin. Went to school in Cedar City. BEAUTIFUL state!!!

We would love to move to Hurricane in a heart beat but our children wouldn't follow us. Utah is very beautiful and the people are very friendly.

I love the picture with everyone, well almost everyone jumping. Kind of hard to jump with a baby in your arms.

It is hard to get that many people jumping at the same time, especially kids. After about 7 or 8 tries this was the best we could do. Try it some time it is not very artistic but a lot of fun. If anyone is interested I could start a new thread where people could post their own jumping pictures. Anyone interested?

I love it, thanks for the link.

Hey, Jay Pat

Since I am such a novice photographer, when I saw that picture I thought those were some kind of weapons. I live just down the road from you int the Lost Creek area of Weat Lake Hills . We are lucky to have so many photo opps in this part of the world.

Hello texgolfer! I don't get on your side of town often.
This was taken in Round Rock, close to the real "Round Rock" in Brushy Creek.

Shows you what I know. I did not know there was a " Round Rock" in Round Rock.
If you ever go into Austin via 360 you will cross Lost Creek blvd the next traffic light after you cross 2244 or better known as BEE CAVE rd.

Hello ksgcslater, Welcome. It is so nice to see someone on at this time in the evening. Usually I suppose people hang it up a lot earlier than I do. Oh well, seeing you was a nice surprise. You have a nice looking family. Isn't it great to be a SAH mom. I was too. You gave up quite a career to be a SAH mom, and your sons are no doubt better for it. God Bless.

Ok, here's the pic and I stand to your right. I answer to Darrell because that's my name and I'm married to the doll on my right for over 15 years. We have 5 sons with only 2 at home still. Law Enforcement for the past 17 years and the camera was purchased for crime scene photos. I've really enjoyed the camera on vacation lately. Needless to say, most of my photos are stills.

The saying is, "if you can't be nice, don't say anything." It ain't, "if you don't think you can be nice, say so and then say you ain't gonna say anything." :-) Like me. I didn't say nuthin'.

Nope, I'm from sunny San Diego and we took an Alaskan cruise this summer. The sign is from the Klondike Highway out of Skagway on the border of Canada and Alaska. It was a great trip. After the cruise we drove up to Denali Park for a few days-magnificent place.

I'm confused. Is not saying anything the same as not saying nothing? But if you say anything, you can't say anything and nothing all at the same time, can you? Life was SO much simpler before I learned I don't know nothing.
