Who really cares? Use whichever camera ya want to, and that is that. If I prefer one type over the other, so what. This thread has gone on too long, and I fear it will only end when folks are finally disinterested with it. Case in point: Chicken or the egg. 8-)

Well I must say every time I go to a football game I see a lot of white lenses there 7 out of 10! I have counted this many times. Also Look at National Geographic’s their magazine with all those photo's that are taken mostly all Canon photo's somebody must think Canon is a professional camera. But you know I think; to each his own Nikon is a very well made camera too so let stop the crap about who's better just enjoy what you have because does not matter at all!

There is only two kinds of morons, one which thinks nikon is better than canon.the other thinks canon is better than nikon, they both get the job done,
Same as ford or chev, dodge , mazda, honda, toyota, none are better just different. They will all get 200000miles if looked after ,One brand of frying pan over another brand , who's will make the best fried eggs and bacon . Only a moron would argue over that, same as a like priced canon or nikon the each have there own colour hew, not better , not worse just different . I have shot both , getting there may be different , but the end result is the same . I may add if pentax , sony, olimpus, etc were better than nikon or canon. Dont you figerie that they would be the top sellers by now . In all the test on pentax and nikon , canon ,. pentax is the poorest one . The test insterments dont lie. So all you people that keep on bringing up pentax , sony etc, there not there yet . So give it a rest

Canon it seems just doesn't make the grade Yes Quality glass is important but if you have two cameras with lenses of equal performance then the camera with the better sensor is going to be better.[/quoteif

I agree with that but your only going to be able tell the difference when you
Shoot with iso 6400 or higher and blow up a crop to see it , then there all crap when you do that, any way . if its a keeper you wont go to those extreams anyway . Im sure you seen the crops and high Iso samples one mess is not as messy as the other one , but there all a mess just the same, and if you stay with in the boundrys there all good .

When I decided to get a DSLR, I really had no bias towards Canon or Nikon. I had owned a Canon T-50 film camera at one point (until my ex-wife somehow got it stolen) and I really liked that camera. I went into a Ritz/Wolf camera shop to directly compare the new Nikon D70 (which I still have) against I believe was a Canon Rebel model. I took some time and shot with both, fiddled with the knobs and buttons, etc. I found that I preferred the Nikon based on how it felt in my hands, the speed at which it was ready to fire after turning it on and the focusing speed. In my opinion at the time, the Nikon won out. Since I had purchased a zoom with it, I felt I needed to stay with Nikon and have since picked up the D7000 and couldn't be happier with it. Just need to upgrade my lenses.

It's simply personal preference.

I admire and respect my nephew’s work and his intelligence and because he uses both I asked him for his opinion as to which was better. I think his response was interesting. He said he’d need a lot more information as to just what he was shooting. Canon is better in some environments where as he prefers Nikon in others. He then picked up my 24-70mm lens with one hand and the 70-200mm with the other and asked me which one was the better lens. I of course said it depends on what I’m doing; his response was that it’s the same between Nikon and Canon, depends on what he’s doing. So I thought I’d trick him into an answer so I said if your company said you could have any camera to keep for your own which would you take? He smiled and said “the one that’s in the best condition”. I know, a lot of words to say nothing so its suited well to this thread, don’t you think?
