"Beach Buzzards"

Living in Homer, Alaska there are numerous photo opportunities not the least of which is the many eagle shots. A lot of the residents call them "beach buzzards" and here's a few photos that I took:

Those are great. I was in Homer last July. Took a halibut fishing trip. Really enjoyed the 4 hour sunsets!

Have you ever gone up to Eagle River in the winter where the lady feeds the eagles on Sunday morning @ 11:00 quite a sight counted over 80 at one time last winter

No I haven't. There used to be a lady at the end of the Homer Spit that regularly fed the eagles with scraps from the processing plants. She used to draw quite a crowd (both eagles and people) for the feedings. Unfortunately, she passed away and I don't believe anyone has taken her place...in fact I believe the feds are enforcing the law that prohibits feeding the birds.
