In his flip-flops!! Can you believe this guy?
This is a case of photographer photographs photographer. The following photographs were taken by photographer Hans van de Vorst at the Grand Canyon, Arizona. The descriptions are his own. The identity of the photographer IN the photos is unknown.
I was simply stunned seeing this guy standing on this solitary rock IN the Grand Canyon.
This is the point of no return.
After the sun set behind the canyon's horizon he packed his things (having only one hand available)
We've come to the end of this little story. Look carefully at the photographer.

Is the photographer still alive......
I've seen these before and I think he is alive.

Did he make it?
Here's the rest of the story that I didn't have room to print as the caption for the last photo. By the way I did not take these photos. I've entered the whole affaire as it was sent to me in an e-mail. ........ Coot

He has a camera, a tripod and also a plastic bag, all on his shoulder or in his left hand.
Only his right hand is available to grab the rock and the weight of his stuff is a problem.
He lands low on this flip flops both his right hand and right foot slips away...
At that moment I take this shot.
He pushes his body against the rock.
He waits for a few seconds, throws his stuff on the rock, climbs and walks away
Must be tough to jump like that with balls the size of church bells.

Big balls and small brain. Really-in flip flops. What was he thinking???
I have been called crazy, but never THAT crazy!
JRLplsFL, Your dad gave you good advice! I've been a Snopes fan for close to fifteen years. I think they're amazingly accurate, productive researchers. For some reason this story didn't jolt my natural cynicism enough to check with them. Thanks for setting me straight. I do still wonder what prompted the guy to take that kind of risk. Even though it only looks like it might be a ten foot fall it still could have resulted in serious injury and most likely the loss of his equipment. Thanks again. ........ Coot

In photo #1 his pants look Brown and the shadow is on the adjoining rock. In all the others his pants are Blue and the shadow is not there. ????

A good example of how lighting will change an image. Clearly there is low angle sunlight enriching the colors in the first shot, and after that the sun is diffused by clouds, which actually results in more natural colors.

I'll put money on my belief that these are "photoshopped" phonies. Well enough done. But the last image in particular looks very suspicious.
Take note as well his shoes are different in each shot. It starts with loafers and ends with flip flops.
Best photos of pure insanity that I have seen in a while!
