So finish a small job, upload the files with a reader install in my pc that I have used 100's of times and get and error and the files are no looking so good, see error files attached.

Change readers to a BRAND new reader thinking the pin was off in the old reader and get, see 2nd card error reader files listed.
One file was so out of focus as you can see.

I place the card back into the camera and the files look great, no problems. I upload the files and see no issues with the camera.

Has anyone had or seen this issue and if so what was the problem, if you know.

First card error

Do you get different results using each card reader? You're showing us different images, so I'm wondering if the same image looked different with different readers.

Have you tried using a USB cable? How about using a different camera to read the card?

We've seem this situation before where the images look OK in the camera but not when trying to upload to a computer.

I got about the same images on both readers, some changes with some files but for the most they were the same bad files with both readers.

To get the files off the card I used a USB to the camera from the PC to get good images.

So the problem is apparent onl;y when using a crd reader. Interesting. You've used these cards with readers before, right?

I'd format the card in the camera and try again. What brand and type of card is it?

I tried to load several last night from a club photo shoot (I had over 700 images on 32 g card). It loaded about 200 then one was just a tan screen up to apx. 1/10th from the top then the program quit entirely and it said the card was empty! Tried again, it wouldn't load any. Loaded them onto my tablet just fine. Went to bed after looking at them. Woke up at 3am worrying about it, got up and loaded them onto the computer, NO PROBLEM! Wierd. I was using the printer card reader and tried the computer card reader.

I had similar results on an old camera when using a 64MB card. The camera only supported 32MB. The pics were fine until I went past 32MB on it. The card never worked for me after that. This was 2003 and an Olympus SmartMedia card.

At this point it sounds like the pics downloaded from the camera just fine. So I'll suggest updating drivers on your SD reader.

I agree. If the files download fine with the USB connection, then it surely sounds like a driver corruption in the interface of your readers. Try reloading the drivers but first do a complete scan of your system to search for those nasty driver corruption viruses. Another possibility I just thought of is your properties files may have gotten corrupted during one of those MS updates that keep coming unexpectedly. Have you tried to reload your backup for the OS or check your properties and reinstall them as they were before this failure? Just a thought...

Did you use the same USB port for all attempts? If the readers were plugged into a different USB port, then that USB port may be the problem.

I tried the USB 3.0 cable on the two USB 3.0 ports on the front of the computer - no good. With the new Y-cable, it doesn't matter where I connected it.

NEW DEVELOPMENT: There are two USB 2.0 ports on top of the computer. When I plug the original USB 3.0 cable in there, it works fine, although I do get a message suggesting that I use a 3.0 port.

I just plugged it into the front USB 3.0 port - no good. I swapped out the cable for the new Y cable, and it works fine.

So, the 3.0 cable does not work in the 3.0 port, but it works on other computers, including on an iMac. The new Y-cable works fine, regardless where I plug it in. Now, you want to tell me how logical computers are? Go ahead - just try. :D

Jerry, this is all caused by the "FM" principle for interface cables (F***ING MAGIC).

I figured there would be an acronym to describe the situation. Thanks for clearing that up.

What happens when you download directly from the camera to the computer?
