Please note, Christy, you are NOT answering the original question, which made no mention of Donald Trump. Trump was not brought into the conversation until later. So far, there have been only two somewhat identical, and somewhat weak, answers to the REAL original question, and a bazillion irrelevant and sometimes comical answers. This has been an extremely entertaining thread!

That's a bit like splitting hairs don't you think? The first line in the post was "Donald Trump Offers $5 Million For Obama's College Transcripts."

My point was he could have made $5 million for a charity. So why not release them?

I can only assume it was for the reasons stated. Obama already dealt with Trump's Birth Certificate garbage, and even though he did so, the right wing made a attempt to twist it and it's not good enough. Why would Obama do the same thing twice and let a idiot like Trump attempt to make him jump through hoops. The 5M was just a tool for condemnation, which Trump had to use. Just being a loud mouth nag, barking at Obama's heels wasn't going to work again.

This past election process was enough of a circus as it was. Trump's intention was to take it down a few more rungs on the ladder to a cheap carnival sideshow.... you know... down to the level of his "Celebrity You're Fired" TV show. Once he withdrew his own name from consideration for the nomination he had no business trying to re-insert his antics back into the election. When the overall Republican base starts to realize what he and the "Sarah Show," and the "Glenn Show," and the "Rush Show'" and all the rest of that type, have done to their party, and start to take their party back, the better off they'll be.

Oooooooooooo....you caught a misspelling. How superior you must feel!

I made a sarcastic comment about it, too, but it was for humor. The word was spelled correctly in the body of the post, therefore the comment about what a person learned in college is not justified. If my comment was taken in the same vein as this one, I apologize.

Who you going to run; Rand Paul or the Senator from Poland Springs?

It has nothing to do with Obama's sainthood Slick. It has to do with the threat to the nation from his ideology.

What rights did you have under Bush that you no longer have under Obama?

I'm talking about his alleged threats to the nation. What rights have you lost ? No conservative wants to answer that question. I have asked it numerous times and it is never answered.
quote=PrairieSeasons quote=KW Conch quote=Prair... (show quote)

I said nothing about rights. I said threats, and can provide the URL for a dictionary site if that will help. Obama's threats to the nation are clear and obvious. The largest and most dangerous is that he is spending money we do not have, and what that will do to our economy and national security.

Two points. First, deficit spending under Obama is nothing new. It has been going on for decades.
Second, spending bills originate in the House of Representatives which is controlled by the Republicans. If spending is out of control, blame them.
quote=PrairieSeasons quote=KW Conch quote=Prair... (show quote)

Deficit spending at this level is new. And unprecedented except during wars. And in those cases, there was a plan to get out of deficit spending. Borrowing 40% of every dollar spent is not sustainable and will result in bad things like loss of the dollar as the world's trading currency and overwhelming debt.

Yes, spending bills originate in the House. And they need to be approved by the Senate and signed into law by the President. The House has voted in budget bills each of the past three years. They are still waiting for the Senate.
quote=KW Conch quote=PrairieSeasons quote=KW Co... (show quote)

Bush did not include the two wars he started and the new prescription drug bill in his budget. Obama inserted the costs in his budget. I wonder what the comparison would look like if true budget figures had been put out by Bush. Also, Obama walked into an economic meltdown that was left by Bush and had to do something to stimulate (save) the economy.
When Bush left office we were losing 700,000 jobs a month. Last month we gained over 200,000. Big difference. It amazes me that anyone would want to return to the Bush economy.

This silliness by the right wing is the reason why they are losing presidential elections. They will continue to lose unless they stop being so juvenile. Let's focus on real issues instead of birth certificates, college transcripts and what Michelle wears.

ok lets ban free speech now and not question the untouchable, infallable Obama.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This happens to apply to everyone liberal or conservative.

Where did banning free speech come from ? You are free to say anything you wish. The "dictator" hasn't banned it yet. In fact, the more crazy things that are said, the less credibility the right wing has. It is so easy to disprove all of these nutty claims it surprises me that they aren't checked out before they are posted.
Want to hear the latest ? Yesterday, a conservative friend told me that Obama had ordered all church steeples and crosses to be taken down. Incredible stupidity. I love to read these boards for my daily laugh.

You continue to change the subject to Bush. Obama and his administration and the congress are spending money at a rate we cannot afford. It will destroy us.

If I were an employer and wanted to hire someone, I'd ask for college transcripts. That would certainly be an expected part of the process to get the best possible employees.

As a voter in the US, I have hired President Obama. So being able to see his college transcripts should be my right. This is all after the fact now, but his refusal to accept the donation will certainly stick with me for a long time.

But doesn't the idea of his ideology being good or bad depend on the perspective of the individual? Obama is the first president since Eisenhower in 1952-1956 to win 51% of the popular vote TWICE. In this past election the Democrats gained seats in both the House and the Senate. That's a pretty good indication that the majority of Americans approve of the direction that Obama is heading and that the Republican way is being favored less and less.

The Democrats were smart enough to organize the people on welfare. That gave BO, about a 39 million vote headstart.
The Democrats were also smart enough to use the bad economy for Clinton to beat Bush.
The Democrats just outsmarted the Republicans. All they have to do now, is to keep more people on welfare. He gave them telephones and minutes. The Democrats will, probably, give them gas cards to buy their votes, next time.

BO's birth certificate tells that his race is "Afro-American". Was "Afro-American" a buzz word, back when he was born ? I believe it came later.
