Looks good - thank you.
I would change the word "no" to "one" (Note : there is no "E" in the word LENS, singular) otherwise it is a "LNS" ;)
Yes I did find this helpful thank you.
Certainly written in layman's language and helpful to some but not for the technically minded. Confusing terminology at times but a great effort on your part. Thx
Thanks Jim. Not only is it full of useful information but it's a good read too.
Thank you Jim! This is very helpful!
JimH...THANK YOU this was very very helpfull to a newbie like me. I now understand what to do to take good pictures in low light situations. :D
Clear and concise - great job! Now, where is the button to make my 68 year old brain assimilate this into my new foray into the world of photography?

Thank you. That's why we learn so much from this forum.
thanks for posting Jim, now lets hope that everyone that needs to read it does, and we keep the redundancy from the forum.

Tell me what you found confusing and I'll try to clarify it. It is aimed at beginners, not the technically minded, so I purposely glossed over the arcane technical stuff.
Good job Jim!
I also think you should clarify:
LOW f number WIDE- BIG aperture- lots of light-- LITTLE/short depth of field
HIGH f number -- LITTLE opening--less light--- BIGGER/Longer depth of field
that whole--opposite thing really confuses people.

As one who is new to the forum and returning to photography after a lot of years, I will undoubtedly contribute to that redundancy somewhere along the line.
I suspect that it mostly comes from people not reading (or not bothering to even look for) the posts on the forum about the subjects that they are asking about.
In a perfect (or even reasonably sane) world, a lot of those questions would never come up if people would just read the instructions that come with their equipment.
It probably is futile to expect that those same folks would read this excellent primer before they post all those redundant items.
I guess one has to use one's built-in redundancy filter and skip over the repeats. Easy to say, isn't it?
At any rate, I apologize up front for those times when I do contribute to the noise created by ignorant or lazy folks who live in a dependency world.
Now, I've got this question .....
