Hi everyone, I'm really getting settled into UHH now thanks to all you great guys and gals, my first two posts have helped me to find my way around.

So what to put up as my first Gallery entry? I've already posted a few shots but I would like to start off with something controversial, is this going to be a 'love it or hate it' shot, will the two weeks it took from setting up the scene, lighting it, preparing the model and PSEing it show?

I love this image, do you? if not why?

What does it convey to you? (I wonder if it has worked?)

I will give no details as yet.

Just for my own personal taste, the PP is overdone. Just my taste and not a critique on your work. Having said that, I very much like the shot, itself. There's something oddly disturbing about it. I'm all about "disturbed". :)

Its definitely different. Different is good very creative. My first response was to laugh its hysterical looking very cartoonish, she looks like she is morphing into a duck. I like it. Look forward to seeing your posts.

Yes the set theme was to tell a story in comic book style with no words (bl**dy hard) this was one of a series. It was deliberately over-cooked. Your very close to the feeling it is meant to convey

Not a fan of this, but just my opinion. It is clear you are passionate about it and I totally respect that.

Ah. Now that I understand the context, I take back what I said about the PP. It does very much look like something I would see in a Comic Book. Good job. :)

I do like it. However, I would like it more if it was an actual illustration instead of a manipulated photograph. Otherwise you have a great sense of emotion and story here.

Thank you, looking at your credentials your comments mean so much. I am not an artist, I am not gifted with pen and ink, but I can make a camera sing! but to my tune.

I love the work of Cesar Manrique-but who else has ever heard of him?

Hi and many thanks for your response, this is exactly why I posted this as my first Gallery entry. If you have followed my two earlier threads you will see that this is something totally different, it was a challenge and posting it here was a deliberate move to 'blow the cobwebs' out.

I love variety and I hate repetition. I like to stir up the hornets nest and get people thinking, you have made my day!

I promise my next entry will not be as controversial.....perhaps!

I like it Chris. It conveys to me a woman who exhibits a pretty, happy outward look in public but shows her true depression and turmoil in private. 8-)

PS Keep posting controversial, how many pets and others grandchildren can one look at? :-D
