I am an old retired guy that has taken a ton of pictures of my family and friends. I am new to the photography hobby so I don't have much to add in the way knowledge. Presently I am scanning all of my accumulated negatives so that the images will live on.
Welcome, you will be happy on here. There are plenty of willing people, quite happy to pass their knowledge on to anyone that cares to ask for it. A real friendly, polite, sincere, happy crowd.

Hi Rick, I have just joined up, and judging by your location and photo you have the wide open spaces in which to take some great shots. having looked at your "Kneeling Nun" I can see some rugged hills but no Kneeling Nun...am I missing something?. Alan.

Welcome rapidrick50......I'll second what Graham said too  Jeanette
The picture is of the Kneeling Nun in Santa Rita, New Mexico. I grew up here and I consider Silver City to be my "real" home.(Silver City is the closest "big" city to Santa Rita.)
The kneeling nun is that little stack of rocks that sticks out on the left side of the mountain. Some where along the line the Kneeling Nun was declared a state monument, keeping Kennecott Copper from reducing the mountain to a small pile of rocks.
