It tells me that the heavens are moving, but I'm a few thousand years behind.

If you don't get you might never get it no matter how many times someone explains it. My wife doesn't understand a lot of the things I like and I have explained it until I'm blue in the face and her answer is still I don't get it.

Consider that the earth is moving at 67,000 mph around the sun...thats pretty cool...and star trails document that photographically.

ggttc, I agree with you that the speed that the earth is moving is a great way to appreciate star trail photos, and you're right the earth does move around the sun at 67,000 mph, which like you said, is really cool, but it's the earths rotation on it's axis (1038 mph also really cool) that creates the star trails.

Why do some people like one color and not another? Why do some love one song and hate another that someone else loves? Is it a question even worth asking?

Can someone explain to me why anybody would use a Canon body as an ashtray...? Nevermind. Don't answer that. Some questions are better left unanswered. :-)
