Canon has a "Loyalty Program"....if you have a Canon that can't be repaired, they will accept it, to recycle its parts, and give you your choice of all cameras, from their discontinued line, at a greatly reduced price...if anyone is interested, you can call 866-443-8002 for more information....couldn't overhaul my Powershot S2 IS so are offering, as an example, the T4i with 18-135mm lens for $576 +tax.....do you think this is a great price??..they call the discontinued line, which are obtained from store's overstock as new upgrades are provided, as "refurbished"....

A year or two ago I went through the CLP and got a refurb 50D body for a great price. I happened to have an old P&S laying around in a drawer that I never used and sent that in for the additional discount.
The refurb 50D arrived like new and has performed flawlessly ever since.
From what I understand if someone wanted to take advantage of this program and did not have a broken camera to send in, they are available on ebay for cheap.

The T4i is not "discontinued". Its their most recent introductory model. It currently sells new for $859 with that lens.
Your offer is very likely a refurb model.

I have an old canon powershot A450 with a broken battery door sitting in my drawer waiting on my next upgrade. I used the loyalty program a few months ago to purchase a 7D for my backup camera. Great program, it came looking brand new!

I think you can only use the program once a year (not positive on that, someone else might know for sure).

But if you live in the UK then get "...insert own rude words..." ! They don't do it outside the USA as far as I can see.

As I noted in my second post, clarifying the price I misquoted here of the $576, which was for a T4i with the 18-55mm lens......I actually paid $736 for the "EOS Rebel T4i 18-135mm IS STM Lens Kit" ....this should give you a better idea of this pricing......here's the promotion current cost of the new kit from CANON......

Well the Canon EOS t4i with the 18-135mm is listed at amazon.com for $859.00, sounds like a no-brainer to me.
