These photos were taken at Milwaukee Zoo in September of 2011. These were some of my very first shots i took after getting my new camera Canon T2i. I took i think about 240 photos of the animals there. It was a beautiful sunny day. The photos of the lions and cheetahs were taken inside with no flash and through glass. Most of the photos taken i used my zoom lens 55-250mm. It was a beautiful setup up for photo taking. I swear they were posing for us. I was going crazy. Then i knew i was going to love my camera! I was really learning some of the settings then with AV etc. It was such a fun and learning afternoon.

The photos are great. Colors and sharp and good compositions. You can tell that you had fun taking them.

Absolutely great shots. Shame about the #1 Leopard with his cropped right ear. With the ear in shot that would have been one for framing and on the wall. You might even have sold that one. :D

John.

I couldn't get the cheetah to pose like that for me.
I like all your Zoo shots. I live not too far from MKE.

Haha i know John i cut off the right ear. I was so anxious about taking these photos because the animals were sitting so nice I was hurrying taking the shot before they moved. Plus being so new to my camera and not sure of the settings. We couldn't believe how good they were sitting there. I think i have a full body photo of the cheetah as well i could probably crop it to a close up of the face. It was a perfect day for taking shots of the animals, they were all cooperating with us. lol. I also have super close ups of the lion, he walked right up to the glass and i got several shots of him too. It was unbelievable!!!
thanks for you comments. debbie
