Sure !!! why not , anything goes with you ,except the facts
He's kinda right, actually. Look up "bourbon Democrats". Post-Civil War "Democrats" were a mixed bunch, from fiercely independent Western agrarian interests (as our deceased friend from Indiana probably was) to middle class merchants in the east. It wasn't until after the turn of the century that the "republicans" and "democrats" that we know identify took their current alignments. Remember, the "trust busting" Teddy Roosevelt was a fabulously rich, eastern Republican.

thank you for pointing that out.

Of course you interpretation of this remark is incorrect due to the shift in political priorities of the parties since that time. I would suggest some reading material for you however, attempting to enlighten you would be like attempting to teach an elephant to fly.

edit...sorry I just scrolled up and saw that you live in the South...you're excused for your ignorance just as those in south have been since they lost that war.

Wow, you two have demonstrated racism, bigotry and condescension all in one simple post. It is good we have such informed and open minds available to us at UHH.

In the real history Lincoln was not opposed to slavery. The war was about States Rights and in that regard it is correct that today's Republican Party is equal to Mr. Grigsby's Democratic party. Any Democrat I have had a conversation with recently is basically opposed to States' or individual rights.

one thing you can count on with sarge, consistency. The republican party was the party of Lincoln. The party which began to make true"all people being created equal" Not the Democratic party. I've read some of his so called "they cant argue with this rants, allegedly based on facts, all proven, through research to be false or debatable. I doubt if he ever was an NCO, just another wannabee

Doesn't stir the pot the way you think. After LBJ, repubs and demo traded places. Repubs were pro black, then turned racist as the democrats passed civil rights law.

Now they're merely crazy.

Waiting for them to exit--any day now...

Quite right. Here's a little background on N. Grigsby ...

Interesting read on the real history... Too bad some folks don't bother to check facts or consider the bigger picture before making judgements or assumptions of "fact".

In spite of your feelings against the Democratic Party, which of course is not the same now as it was then, it is hard to be a Republican when they are so fractured, so split. If you Republicans want to win a national election, you better spend more time cleaning up your own act than finding fault with the Democrats.

Well, I guess that settles it! SNOPES said it, and we all know that Snopes is "Fair. Balanced. Unafraid" in what it says is the truth. Ain't we lucky to have such balanced reporting?

The politician that tells the best lies wins.
The problem is NOT Democrats/Republicans it is politicians.

It seems that the right wing likes to run around proving their ignorance in public.

Much like Carl Rove disputing the election results live in public on Fox News!

How true? The two major parties have essentially switched roles since the time this was carved into stone. You didn't now that, but still felt you had an excuse to be didactic. Obviously you are a right wing, Republican. Your intention was to smite the Democratic party, but you will have to try a different approach after wiping the egg off your face.

I am an individual, who don't need advices as what to do for myself , Republican ? No , i can said that I leaned much on the side of liberty , I don't have to smite anybody , but if I look at the resuilt were this country is going , I can said that we are in deep s....t ,even if you admit it or not . I guess I stirred a bowl of s...t right ? and sometime it hurt .
Oh well , that's.what is fantastic about this Country the liberty to tell other what we feel without having the fear ( for now at least ) of the stupid " governement "
