Hi everyone. While out hiking today I found a moth sitting on a rock. This may not seem to exciting, but in Northeast Ohio in February this is not a common site. I used a Canon 100 mm lens with a Canon 50D camera. I used a dual flash Canon macro light with diffusers on each lite. The first picture is not a true macro but I wanted to show what I was shooting. The second two are 1:1. I'm open to comments and suggestions. They were shot with 1/200 shutter speed and I think around f16 aperture. ISO 320.

Posting a "reference" photo along with macros is quite proper. You done good! Keep shooting.

Thanks for the comments. It means a lot from you guys who have set the goal so high. If nothing else, I have learned what a true macro shot is. Now I need to work on technique and better results. But, I think that it is what it is all about for everyone. Some of you are just a little further ahead in the progression than others. That's the fun of the sport. Constantly trying to improve is good. When you stop tryin to improve, it's time to find a new hobby. I'll send more pictures if I find another bug.
