Here is a pano I sent earlier, and decided to do a little playing with it to give it a surealistic effect. The pano is of an actual life size locomotive, a church and schoolhouse on a public display at a park, and my grandson I added to make it look like a "toy town" he's playing in.

What a super-cool idea... and result! :)

Thank you very much. I was hoping it didn't look too "fake". I love taking pictures and turning them into art. I guess it's my PaintShop Photo Pro background coming out... LOL

That's a beauty. How did you get such a magnificent vantage point? I love panos like this...

I also love sunsets on a calm lake. These were taken at Stoney Creek park from my boat. There was also a wedding going on at the park. God must have been smiling down on that couple that evening. The sky was breathtaking with these colors.

This one was with my wife sitting in the front of the boat taking her own pictures, and the boat had drifted into the sunset, so I decided to do a silhouette of her in it too.

Jkaye,

Two very well executed panos. While I'm not a big fan of circular panos, or overcooked HDR, I do appreciate the amount of time, work, and creativity that goes into them. I am envious of your trip to Crater Lake, didn't get there on my one trip to OR, sigh...

Have you investigated B&W IR for cemeteries, goes together like PB&J.

Hobbycam,

Three very strong photos, especially when you consider you made them manually.

I noticed all three panos have white skies, with just a touch of blue in the dam photo, try to underexpose just a bit so you can bring up the darker parts of the photo in post processing without blowing the skies.

Tenya lake has a few dark edges that could easily have been removed with more careful cropping. The darkest parts of that pano could also be lightened a bit.

All in all, a great fist showing of panos.

Post more soon,

Eric

Perry,

The first pano is spot on, way to go!

In the second pano, if you truly want to silhouette a part of the photo, make it totally black. If it is not a silhouette, crop off the right 1/3 of the image and it works for me.

Just my opinion,

Eric

Perry,

Keep in mind that these are Infrared B&W, not just B&W. I love IR but regular B&W, not so much...

"Infrared" B&W? is that something you do with your camera as in adding a filter lense?

Thanks Eric, you gave me an idea too... I decided to add a mask layer along with darkening my wife's image to make a true silhouette. I didn't want to cut 1/3 of the pano on the right as I wanted the contrast from light to dark in the pic, so I put the mask effect in the pano to give it a different and more bold impression. Let me know if that improves it. (I love to play with photos like that, I am not a "purist" with photography, but I don't want my pics to look like they got "Walmart photo counter" editing either.) lol

Perry,

Boy have I been slacking on response time! Actually I was out of town last week and I'm just now catching up on things.

Here's a recent post about IR equipment:
