There are only two kinds of snakes.

The wrong kind will kill you.

Man that sucker hides well. I used a magnify to bring him out. Initially thought he was a little higher to the right with what looks like a white fang or cottoned opened mouth.

Copperheads actually smell like cucumbers at night and they won't kill ya most likely but leave some nasty scars. I still would not want to tangle with one. YUK

The smell was the obvious clue for me ... kind of earthy and leafy.

Many snakes vibrate their tails when agitated or feel threatened, when in leaf litter the noise sounds much like a rattle snake.
Copperheads are cousins to cottonmouths and are primaruly hemo toxic, the venom attacks and digests tissue and blood, as opposed to Coral snakes and Cobra, Mamba which are neuro toxic which attacks the central nervous system, shutting down the heart and lungs.
Any bite from any of these animals will make hyou wish it never happened, even a "dry bite", a bite lackig vemon in jection.
