Try at least weekly. Usually on weekends
Every day I take the dog and camera out together because if I don't take the camera I always miss an interesting bird and if I don't take the dog she sulks or eats the gate.
Never miss a photo shoot because it might be boring...conditions are never the same.Go back to previous places U will be surprised

I was just wondering....how often do you take photos? Is it daily, weekly, weekends or just whenever? Thanks for your replies!!
I'm a photographer for a University so I take quite a few. I average about 3k each month.

Whenever. I usually have a camera with me. I carry a point and shoot in my purse with a pretty good zoom just in case I come across something. If I am takinng a car trip, I take either an SLR or my SX50HS.

I never leave home without a camera, ever! Even on my motorcycle or scooter I'll take a backpack or at least a Canon S95 on a belt case. My iPhone is always with me and the images are so good I find myself using it in restaurants, friends homes, etc. Most of my life I had to sacrifice $$ to shoot film, now that it costs nothing I just can't shoot enough! The included shots are spontaneous iPhone shots.

Now its whenever - spent about 5 years before I retired traveleing all over Maryland. Now I'm retired, having a hard time thinking about where I'd like to visit again and getting a little sensitive to cold. Kinda concluded that as the weather warms it won't be what I want to see again, but rather what I want to do differentand new - lotta that! Not much on traveling beyond day trips.
I'm finding the cold deters me too, need a bit more motivation to go out when it's below 32deg, Bob.
I agree. I'm retired as well. I carry a point and shoot with me everywhere I go and take the DSLR out often for special photo trips. I't pretty much when the mood strikes, but that happens very often.
Also really enjoy PP

I'm retired and am fortunate to lead a fairly quiet, stress-free life, so for me it's more about the weather and the season, similar to Kestrel. I have been know to take 400 photos in one day!
In winter, I'll go out for clearing fog, sun after snowfall, hoar frost, etc. And this winter we've been fortunate to have dozens of eagles along a nearby river, so have made a lot of trips to see them (not such great photos as my max. is 250mm). And sometimes just by going out, you get really lucky. One day, looking for a break in the fog, I spied a coyote in a field and was able to get a couple of photos I really like.
Reading the other responses to your query is very interesting, so am hoping more will reply. I'm also hoping you won't think in terms of $$ investment so much as just being fortunate to enjoy a creative and fun hobby whenever the mood strikes you!

I try to take photos daily when possible. If I miss a day, I start to get shaky so I know tomorrow I HAVE to take some photos! I keep trying for that "perfect" shot.
used to carry camera allways now its weekends mainly I`m spending more time messing with Arduino and semi high speed
photography. A bit of advise carry your camera while you can..
Hi all, For me it is not really a daily dose of taking photos. Since I have such a great backyard with the canal I look hourly for some photogenic birds. Sometimes a Great Blue Heron stops by for a fish dinner. I've also photographed a large flock of white pelicans feeding. So, the bag is various, and sometimes nothing at all, just the local mockingbird on a wire. Some days I take a trip to the French Quarter, there is always subjects about to photograph. City Park is always good for gulls in flight, and many different types of ducks, geese, and swans.
This is what I mean about missed photo shoot. Missed the before photo of a cute little country church,it is no more this is all that's left burnt to the ground the other day. Will post a couple of after shots.
Love all the responses! Will start to carry my camera all the time, definitely know all the missed shots!

Whenever I go out my camera is with me. But it is seven and wearing out. It's a Panasonic FZ20 bridge camera. The aperture, shutter, settings and some of the scene modes no longer work. But I know its limitations and stay within them. If I leave without it, I get this nagging feeling that I'm going to miss a good shot. I only shot about twenty a day on average.
