If there is a free pizza section, I'm in. No.

Actually, there are several: plain, extra cheese, pepperoni, extra cheese with pepperoni - you get the idea.

I think it would be a great idea. Only trouble is that there is so much overlap of so many areas.

How about a RAW vs JPEG section or one that only talks about the best camera or lens. Perhaps another one on exposure and another on "What went wrong". Maybe another Macro Section that discusses images other than spiders and flies. Why are so many analytical questions found in the main Photography discussions when there is a section on photo analysis?

This is a forum where people have the ability to ask questions.

This is good, but it would be nice not to have to come across the same questions over and over. Isolate them to certain areas!!!

I think we have too many specialty sections already, so no. 8-)

I agree! The more specialty sections, the more difficult to follow interesting topics.

TOO MANY already!! NO MORE please!!

No more specialty sections please. The ones that we have are not being properly used, and only serve to hurt the site overall.

In fact, I think UHH would be improved if some of the so called specialty forums were eliminated.

If people were honest in naming their threads, there would not be any need for specialty forums. . .now there's a concept!

Good Points. If the title of the thread was specific, it would make the Search feature more useful. It would help people avoid wasting time reading a post that does not interest them.

Maybe I should, but I never read anything but the Main section. I do browse the Gallery, though. I can spend hours on just the Main discussion area, so I'm not inclined to read the other sections.

Take a look at what we have now, and see the amount of action each one gets.

Are you interested in having a special section / forum on UHH dedicated to PP? If you are, please respond saying so. (And if you would prefer that PP remain part of the Main Photography Discussion, state that as well).

If there seems to be a sufficient number wanting a separate section, I will ask Admin to set it up. If anyone wants to moderate or co-moderate it, let me know that as well.

I agree, I usually only read the Main section and peruse the Gallery as well. I'd have to vote against yet another section.

You mean you don't find words like: "Help", "Question", "lens", "Advice please" or their name..."mooseyes" helpful?
I gotta agree with you.

And while on the subject of being helpful, how about providing links.... that work.

Pretty soon, we'll be able to eliminate the Main area. :D

We need the main area for the RAW vs JPEG posts.

As I'm just learning PP I thought it would be a great idea. But after reading the previous posts I have to agree--just too many boards already. TNmike

Well, the first dozen or so responses seem split about 50-50. Or maybe six of one and a half dozen of the other. Or a horse apiece. Or maybe a Canon and a Nikon.

I agree with the underlying rationale of the "no" votes in that it is just another diversion from the main discussion, so am not going to pursue this any further. I am open to ideas, however, on how to get people to use meaningful titles for threads.

I think it will be difficult to persuade such a large group of individuals to use specific titles for threads, but who knows. Certainly I wish you luck. This is already under the Forum Rules:

"- Try to use descriptive titles when creating new topics. Instead of something like "Please Help", write a title that briefly states the nature of your post. That way, people who know the answer or are interested in that particular topic would be more likely to click on it to read it and post replies."

The ironic thing is that the vague titles...Please Help, Advice Needed, etc. seem to be the threads that get the most views and responses. Go figure! 8-)
