An interview with tk

I could not be more stunned!!!!! I won! Wow! St3v3M, thank you for doing these weekly challenges. They get us all thinking and working.

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
Okay, been doing photography off and on since dinosaurs in 1976 with film and my first Nikon. Lots of lenses came with my Christmas present. Lapsed for several years.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
My favorite subjects are landscape, birds, and the occasional rapid moving grandson. Have done well with fog and silhouettes.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
In the last 5 years I purchased my first digital Nikon and have progressed to a D5100 with a few more lenses.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
You can see my shots on UHH. Not posted anywhere else. My next challenge is light painting via Kelby Course with Dave Black.

An interview with Ugly Jake

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I took a photo with my Dad's Brownie when I was 5, but I got serious after reading Ansel Adam's book in about 2007.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
No training, other than Scott Petersen's book. I like flowers, and birds, and clouds and architecture.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
My first granddaughter was 2 weeks old, and I researched cute infant shots, and my daughter liked this pose.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
Canon SX-30 , natural lighting, I put the baby's legs out the sleeve of a black cotton polo (If you look closely, you can see the texture), and covered the background with the body of the shirt.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?
More lighting, so I could use a different shutter speed - that's a Wiggly baby!

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?
Videos?
Commentary

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
Why, yes - my brother and sister talked me into opening a web site. http://oaktreephotography.smugmug.com/ sorry for the long name - it's a basic, no-frills model.

An interview with colie

Thank you so much! This is an absolute honor! I'm pretty new to the site and just actually realized there was a message section.... a little about me:

1) How long have you been into photography and what got you started?
I'm a Mother of 3 beautiful boy's, a wife to my sweet and patient hubby, a hairstylist, and a dancer at heart with a passion for capturing images of all things. I'll admit it I'm a photo hoarder! I started getting into photography when I was probably 12 or 13. I've always loved taking pictures.

2) Have you had any formal training and what kind of photography do you do most?
When I was in Highschool I worked as an assistant for my photography teacher and got to spend my time mixing chemicals for the dark room and got lots of extra time in there which at that time was one of my favorite places to be. That was almost 20 years ago. After 3 kids I'm finally ready to start putting more focus on my love of being behind the camera! I don't have any real formal training but I love challenging myself with new ideas.

3) What inspired you to take your winning shot?
This photo was taken at my house with my son Hazen and I. I took a bunch of pictures of just his feet but this one felt cozy and I liked the feeling of connection.

4) What equipment did you use and was there any special setup?
I used a canon xti f5.6 at 1/80 iso 400.

5) Would you change anything if you could do it again?

6) If you couldn't do photography what else would you do?

7) Is there somewhere we can see more of your work?
More of my work can be found on the 365 project which I just started in Jan of this year. http://365project.org/colie/365/2013-02-04

Thank you so much for the votes and nice messages
