Yes they are very common. You see them out in the brushy areas where there are lots of insects.

Karen, may I be so forward as to give you a tip about replying to people on this site?
When you are going to make a reply click on "Quote Reply" not just "Reply" that way the person you are replying to gets her/his name at the top of the post so they know you are addressing them. If you just click Reply" no one knows who you are talking to.
I am only telling you this because I notice you are fairly new here. I was told the same thing when I first joined the site. :D
