Not a big fan of over-done HDR and tonemapping, HOWEVER, this subject is perfect for that treatment and I personally think you have done an awesome job of bringing out the feel of the scene!!
Very well done!! Keep on doing what you're doing!!

All in the eyes of the beholder. You are right in this case as an ordinary image of this old house would not have worked to get that backwoods feeling I was after

Thanks all

At my photo club meeting last night there was a talk about HDR, but have a ? for you , what makes the glow above the trees ? I haven't tried to do HDR yet, I do like your work on this old house.

Not sure. I have done a bit of investigation and it appears that it is the software I used HDH Efex Pro. It seems to be inherent in it and one needs to do more work in photoshop to get rid of it. In this case I liked it so did not go further. I also use Photoshops HDR and just got Photomatrix Pro which seems to work the best for me. If you already have PS then maybe you do not want to bother with other software. If not it is less expensive to go with other HDR software

Hi
I know what HDR stand for but don't really know what it is or how to achieve it
Some work I see that is HDR in the title does not bring anything to the shot however the quality that appears in this shot is amazing and well composed.

I really like this

Thanks
Karl

High dynamic range is achieved by taking at least three photos of the subject with one at normal exposure and a couple with a couple stops under and over exposed then blend them together with software. P S has a plugin built in or you can also get other standalone software. Google HDR tutorials there is a ton of them especially on youtube. it does wonders to thefinal product
Make sure you use a tripod when you take you subject pics

I really like this picture as well. The glow above the pine trees does throw it off somewhat, but overall, you did a great job with this.

Use aperature mode to maintain same depth of field and vary the exposure with shutter speed in order to maintain consistent images.
