So I thought I would start a new thread and share a few pictures of my "old friends" :)

I actually shot Ectachrome 100 transparencies with the Graflex. I wonder if anyone still processes E6 4x5's?

I still have my first Kodak Hawkeye, it's in the collection. Most of the cameras I have picked up while traveling or they were given to me. I still shoot with the Leica C3. This collection just keeps getting bigger....

Would it be okay if I just refer people to your picture rather than dig out all of my old ones including the 4 4x5s from their boxes in the basement? lol~!

This is an Argus STL 1000, it was bought in Vietnam during the war by my father. He gave it to me before he passed because he knew how I felt about photography. It is not in working order now as some parts inside have deteriorated to the point that they need replacement, but once that is done I do intend to use it to get vintage looking photos (if I can).

That looks like an old Mamiya Sekor. Reckon they could've made it for Argus?

From what I understand, there were allot of different cameras produced from the same frame, depending on where they were made, and who made them. This one was an american export to Asia.

The F3 was my favorite film camera. Although in December of 1993 I was shooting my sister-in-laws wedding in Paris France with the F3 and the shutter jammed. Oh was I mad at that camera! Mainly because I had forgotten to bring my spare body to the church.

All great cameras. I worked many years in a retail camera store and used to buy ald cameras for a collection. My favorite was the Zeiss Super Ikonta. It had a 2.8 tessar lens and the front folded up and you could slip it in your pocket. It made 11 6x6 cm negatives and had space between fromes to write id numbers on in indian ink. Would love to have one now.

Heres a shot of a 6xp folding camera that makes great negatives.

Someone in the thread asked about Extachrome E6 processing. There are a number of labs. I use 5x4 Extachrome.

If you love old cameras and are in the Daytona Beach Area, the place to visit is "Clems Cameras" in the Daytona Flea market (air conditioned shops).
Clem is one of the nations experts and has an amazing collection of vintage cameras for sale.

Open Friday, Saturday and Sundays only.

The prize in my collection was a Luftwaffa Green Leica (Gussing a 2c) complete with swastika. I was hitchiiking in Russia in 1964 and got hard up for cash and sold it. Never had a clue how much it would be valued at today.

Nikon John...Im wondering what you shoot with now?

This is what I use now, in my typical configuration; Nikon D300 with the MB-D10 battery pack and my Promote GPS with the Nikon 16-85mm lens. I mainly shoot landscapes so the GPS tells me where I was when I took the picture. The battery pack is mainly because the GPS is a power hog, but when I see wildlife the 8 frames per second is nice also. : ) The 16-85mm f3.5-5.6 is not a fast lens but the wide angle distortion is quite low for a 16mm (24mm equivalent). Plus it has VR (vibration reduction) for when I had hold it at slow shutter speeds, and it's quite sharp as well. I have been most happy with my D300 and I get good results with it. Though I am quite curious what the "D400" and the "D800" will look like. :) ;)

While not prestigious, the oldest camera in my possession is a UniveX Model A. It's made of Bakelite, and is said to be the first mass produced camera inexpensive enough for anyone (39 cents, in 1933).

I don't have a picture of it, or have it anymore, but my first wedding , I shot with a Mamiya C330 Twin lens camera. That was about 1974.
