I used my 50 mm lens, f/2.8, iso 400 and took this photo. If subject not moving on the screen, you can get some good images. Also attached is the San Fran. QB.

As photographers we should abide by their wishes....No???

Interesting question. If I were to sell photos I took off a publicly transmitted broadcast, would that be illegal? People have actually video recorded the songs and the ceremony and are replaying it with ads to generate revenues (YouTube). But not of football games; but they do of certain plays, fumbles or hits. Usually it is the broadcaster's responsibility to gain permission to broadcast. Once it's on the air, it is fair game.
But correct me if I am wrong.
I am not charging people to come over and view a replay of an NFL game. But if I print some cards up and sell for $3.00 apiece, or make stationary to sell at rallies, I do not see anything illegal here.
I see the same picture in newspapers and on Youtube videos.
