Evidently there is a section of Kansas City called the "Waldo area". Anyway, I photographed this lady in the Waldo area.
The biggest thing that I noticed today is that I could probably fill up a 16meg SD card in less than an hour just showing pics of people on or looking at their cell phones.

The photo is nice. The cell phone craze is out of whack. We were in a restaurant not long ago and a young couple came in and sat down, both texting, they got their food, texted the whole time they were eating and never said a word to each other. Disgusting! One of these days they will wake up and find they can't raise their heads.

I call it modern man. Just think of the chaos if someone shut down all the cell phones. It would be just like the stock market crash back in the day. People wouldn't know what to do. We might have to go back to writing letters, or driving over to see friends again.

I still have a working dial telephone. I ought to hook it up just to blow my kids' minds. It plugs right in.
You never know, perhaps they were "sexting" each other. Stranger things have happened.

They probably wouldn't know how to use it.

I am thinking the other way. If you tell them it is a game, they would have it figured out in notime.:)

Were they texting each other? Recently saw a group of 4 young people busy texting and noticed that they were just texting each other, looking up and smiling at the other party after receiving a txt, then looking down to reply...... Must be losing their voices and have to rely on technology.......
This is becoming the new normal unfortunately.

Two Christmases ago I gave my granddaughter, then fifteen, and my grandson, then twelve, each a Nintendo ds. You can text with it, if you stay with 300 feet or so. They sat on the couch, side by side, texting each other and giggling. Had a blast for about an hour.
I feel its rude to be constantly looking at the phone and more interested in what someone is writing than being with the one you're with. Plus they are all going to have "Dowager's hump" by the time they are 40 from the constant poor posture. just my thought.
it's the evolution of man...we are heading back to the ignorant, hunch backed primate we started from. cel phones and computers are doing this.....computers are making us stupid and cel phones are hunching us over.
i make my living with computers...but the "new generation" can't add 3 or 4 numbers together without a computer. sadly, i see this a couple of times a week.
also..a few weeks ago i was coming out of walmart and this elderly guy (in his 80's) was standing outside waiting for his wife who was still inside shopping. he told me..i bet she runs into that parked car..i bet you $5. i looked over and here's this young lady with 100% of her attention looking at her cel phone and texting..she was heading towards a parked car. i told him i wouldn't bet him $5, but i would bet him $1. He won..she ran smack into that car.
what have we become?

you are right. soon, we will have no social skills except for those on facebook and twitter.
my wife and i were at the movie theater last week. kids on the right side of the theater were texting and phoning their friends on the right side of the theater. they were disruptive and we got them thrown out. we then enjoyed the movie.
