How about just walking away and leaving them to their own devices.

A ton of rules and then you have to relinquish your photos to the MAN to protect these people from their questionable behavior becoming public. Sounds two faced and hypocritical to me.

Like the others have pointed out if these so called adults would behave and act as they expect us to act then there would not be a problem.

I myself would walk away and keep my integrity. Money is not everything!

But that is just my two cents.

My understanding of the original request is that Dirty Dave is not responsible at all for the bad photos, and that he is not in charge of the security. They are only looking to him, as a professional expert in photography, for ideas on how to control others who take improper photos. They are not versed in this proceedures and are lost as a goose and are just begging for direction.

I find it interesting that we pay these politicians to ensure our freedoms, only to have a freedom taken away from us (carrying our cell phones for instance) so they can have the freedom to do unethical things.
You are there to photograph the party. How are you to know who is with who? The idea of having a notice, with the invitation, reminding everyone that their behavior could be caught on camera should ensure you the freedom to make the photos that will capture the this event

One your getting paid to by the photographer, SO CHARGE FOR IT. Give the camera card to who hird you, forget the pictures. Let them do with what they want to do with. You get paid. You best think about model releases, ever peason and thing you photography there you need it. You can be sued for #1000.s. Take one price and be happy you got it.

In order to avoid being photographed in a compromising position, don't get into a compromising situation. If you ain't doing the boss's wife, you can't be photographed doing the boss's wife. It's a simple equation.

No wrong = no wrong pix.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Can't really see your dilemma...Sounds like the Organizers, and the drunken, cheating, messes have the issue.
As far as not looking like an idiot at the preparty meeting not having much imput....no such thing...those parties will have issues that have nothing to do with you unless you leak the photo.....just say " I have no control over anyone else, but I can assure you that I will shoot with integrity, and you will end up with all of my CF cards to do with as you wish, and I will have no images at that point to leak....See you Saturday night to capture some great images."

Thought I might get some ideals here on a party that I am the photographer for each year. Last year was a incident in which a photo got out to the public of a person with someone they shoud not have been with. And another with a politician in a drunken state. This year a security company has been hired to oversee the party and I have been asked for my input on how this type of photo won't be an issue this year. ( these pictures were taken by someone else with a camera phone) The only way I know so far is not to allow any type of camera or phones into the party and keep the lights dim so photos would be hard to take without a flash. I will be meeting with them on Tuesday and don't want to go into the meeting looking like an idiot so any suggestions will be helpful. ( there are national celibs and politians at this thing in which some of them will have there own secruity but they are counting on me to to have some ideals)

After reading everyone's input, I think Keith199 gave you the best advice.
Everything else is off-topic. 'Nuff said.

Hey, be glad you are making money. Many of us out here would give our eye teeth (I don't know what eye teeth are) to be paid for taking photos, which we do for free on our own because we love it.

didn't think about it but yep I guess I am in a tuff spot and I can't make any money off of the pictures I have to give them to the person having the party I just get a fixed pay even tho it is a lot of money I sign a contract giving up all rights to the pictures they belong to them I can't even use any to promote my on bussness it kinda stinks after you think about it.

Canines, insisers, last two two cutting teeth (one on either side) before the grinders. The two teeth that vampires use to make the holes in your neck. Those guys have longer 'eye teeth' then most of us.
