Up close & personal.
I admit I posted similar bities a few weeks back but I found a new play mate & chose to spend a bit of time with him. He was alive on the jug but heavily sedated with a 10 & a half shoe for the rest.
I tried various poses but my little compact Sony DSC-TX20 is limited in what one can do. It tells the story tho'.
His Parker Pen.
Alive in this one.
The undercarriage for those interested.
Match stick comparison
This was his mate from weeks back.
Can't believe I looked at those. I HATE SPIDERS.
But the size of that thing got me.
The 10 1/2 seemed the best solution.

Can't understand the point of killing a harmless spider and posting photos of it. Unless it was to show how brave you were.. What a hero.
It'd be far more skillful to try and get a decent photo of it..
Sarcasm right ?

I'm with U Sarge------That's a better picture then I'd ever get. By the time my size 11 got threw with him, there would be nothing left for a picture. They say the snakes need something to eat, well they can go elsewhere to get there dinner.
A less permanent method of sedation for small invertebrates is cooling. Put the specimen, (in this case the spider) in a jar and put it in the refrigerator until it stops moving.
Take it out of the refrigerator and place it in suitable surroundings in a suitable pose. and photograph. If the pose does not look natural, wait until it starts to warm up and assumes a more 'alive' posture.
This works because spiders and other small invertebrates are poikilothermic, (cold blooded) and their rate of metabolism is slowed considerably at low temperatures.

I have been bitten way to seriously, way too many times to play with spiders. There is one spider I love and will NOT kill anfd that's the beautiful, huge yellow and black garden spider. If I see any others, they become history. I hate to say good shots, but (closing my eyes) "good shots"

Oh dear, getting personal.. A bit childish.
My comment wasn't arrogant, I merely questioned the need to kill something you didn't understand. You're comment was however based on your extreme ignorance.
Any moron can take a photo of a dead spider, this is supposed to be a site dedicated to photography, sharing and learning how to be better.
Killing things so that you can capture an image is completely pointless, it's dead, lifeless, kaput, finished. You say that you 'tried various poses', that's plainly pathetic, it was DEAD..
I'd try sarcasm but you just wouldn't understand...

XXX THIS IS ARROGANCE XXX None are as good as you.
But none of it is terms of endearment.
Ah, such incisive wit and command of language.

The point of this is to show off photography skills. Which look very nice. Does it matter where or how he got his subject or whether it was dead or alive? Nice photos Bunko!!
