If we can allow jillions of all races of people into this country unchecked.... there's no telling what else is coming with them. This country has never seen so many people here and it's still an open border. Guns and other things along with it. No President wanted to stop this flow. It's getting worse instead of better. Soon we will be like those other countries --- afraid to even walk out the door of your house. The drug companies better hurry and make more and newer drugs. Don't know how people will manage with the gunshots. Its a never ending thing. This country is fast becoming a third world country where water will be hard to find, food will be fought over for lack of growth due to lack of rain, hospitals will be closed cause of jillions flocking in for what ever reason, Doctors will only care for the wealthy ... others will die in the streets. That day, my friend, will come..... and we brought it upon ourselves for lack of foresight or lack of caring into the future. The rich will live on the mountain tops....and wonder what happened.

It was unheard of years ago of the many, many different races which have flooded our states unknown to most. How did they get here? Does anyone care?

Seems you are a little off with the cause of the war yourself. Colonists wanted a seat (a vote) and not to just be told what was going to be taxed without any voice. Yes the war was expensive and it was solely for the benefit of the colonists and they should have paid with gratitude. One vote would not have prevented any taxes anyway but colonists wanted to be recognized as something more than an illegitimate son. I have read that only 20% supported Brittan but I am not a historian.

The armed mob you refer to were the minute men who killed the first Brits? Or are you referring to the colonists who crossed the river to take the British held forts after the red coats were first attacked? You do realize that the Brits were shot for trying to get to our arms storage right? They were going to take our guns and so Americans shot them. Slight exaggeration ... Brits wanted to hang Adams and Hancock too but I have seen liberals take larger liberty with truth than that LOL.

I am no historian either but just recently read a very good book (in my opinion) entitled "The Founders" that does tend to support a number of the statements by DebJenRob however you are right that the colonists fiercely objected to taxation without representation. Also, the Brits may have given Adams a lighter sentence if they had won the war since many recognized that he was the laywer who successfully defended the Bristish soldiers in the Boston Massacre trial.
The most interesting thing I read in the book (The Founders) was that the author concluded that Washington himself favored reconciliation with the crown and would have likely fought on their side if he had not been turned down for a commission to a regular army officer rank. Not only did the British deny his request for a commission, they turned down his claim for large sections of land rights for participating in the Indian Wars. It was shortly after his last claim was denied that he came forward to petition the Continental Congress for a position in the Revolutionary Army.

Sorry .... I thought you were referring to our ancestors ... I should have realized that "our ancestors" may have come to America at different times and for different reasons .... the point is that we have a history of free loading ... if that is what you want to call it ... and in the final analysis it has insured political stability ....

I am not "dictating" ..... I am giving my opinion .... once again ... there are better guns available for any ligitimate purpose ... I worry about the mental state of the person who owns an AR-15 .... holding the AR-15 makes the owner a "macho" man .... did you ever see a REAL competition target rifle or pistol .... nothing macho about them ....

AR-15 rifles when properly equipped are more than capable of and are often used in match shooting competitions. It is available in several differant calibers and is an excellant platform for a variety of sporting, hunting, defense, competition and tactical applications. It can easliy and guickly be reconfigured to meet changing conditions and needs. It is a well designed, reliable, accurate and suitable weapon for many uses and unfortunatley much maligned because of the actions of a few psychopaths.

Why is it so important that the killings be "mass" killings? Many people are killed every day by different means but the national news only tells you about the "mass" killings because it gets your "feelings" going. All over the U.S. as many children or more are killed by other means but because it is "one at a time" it is not national news.

And do you know why, Doc? We don't hear about that because the gun manufacturers lobbied for and got a law that denies federal funding to any institution that studies that question.

Hmmm.....imagine that, Doc. I wonder why they'd want such a law.....hmmmm....
